Alumna Jordyn Arndt '11 was featured in the 2018 special edition of St. ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ University Magazine. In "The B Connection," Arndt delved into her experiences as both a mentee and a mentor, sharing insights on how women can create support systems and help lift each other up professionally.
One of Arndt's mentors over the years has been Penny Burtt, now a vice president of government affairs in Asia Pacific for Visa. The two met during Arndt's time at the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham).
"I am hugely proud of all that Jordyn has achieved, and her incredible energy and determination in getting there," said Burtt.
Burtt's support inspired Arndt to pay it forward to other motivated Katies.
"Working with Jordyn has helped me refine my goals and take steps to achieve them, learn more about scholarships, fellowships, and graduate schools, and provided me with a strong female role model in the discipline," said Erin Nelson '20, one of Arndt's mentees at St. Kate's. "Jordyn has accomplished so much in the field of international relations."
After graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in French, international business, and economics, Arndt received a 2012 Fulbright Scholarship for 10 months in Morocco, worked as government affairs manager at the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, and is currently pursuing a graduate degree at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C.
In 2018 Arndt also accepted a position as a foreign affairs officer in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor at the State Department in Washington, D.C.
