Connecting Campus and Community
The Center for Community Work and Learning (CWL) facilitates meaningful engaged learning through community-engaged courses, ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ employment programs, and civic engagement. Through mutually beneficial partnerships with , we provide opportunities for ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s to practice critical and creative thinking, living out St. Kate's values of social justice and leadership. CWL is part of the Office of Scholarly Engagement.
Community-Engaged Learning
Each semester, more than 30 undergraduate and graduate courses collaborate with organizations on experiences that support ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ learning goals and benefit community partners.
Student Employment Programs
America Reads
Be a mentor, tutor youth. Tutors work at schools and community organizations, with group transportation provided by St. Kate’s.
Assistantship Mentoring Program
Collaborate with a faculty or staff mentor as a teaching, research, or program assistant. AMP teams engage in projects tailored to their specific interests.
Community Leaders Program
Work in a paid position at a local community organization and develop your leadership and professional skills. Positions are often related to one’s academic area of study.

The Civic Engagement Collective is a group of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s, faculty, and staff who work to create a vibrant, engaging, and respectful campus, encouraging the St. Kate’s community to be involved in our democracy.
Empty Bowls is an initiative of the St. Kate's Clay Club, which use the power of (making) art as a way to raise funds and awareness of food insecurity.
WTDN is an interdisciplinary, community-engaged research project on housing segregation and racial inequalities in Ramsey County and beyond.
