St. ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ University’s sonography program offers two tracks: adult echocardiography and general, which includes abdomen-extended and OB/GYN.

The sonography program at St. ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ University is designed to provide a quality and comprehensive education, through classroom and clinical experiences that prepare ´ºÓêÖ±²¥s to become credentialed sonographers.

Clinical experience is a vital part of our program. We collaborate with many medical partners in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota including , , and . These partnerships allow you to work alongside an expert in the field and practice sonography in a wide range of medical situations. By graduation, you will have acquired 1,200 hours of clinical fieldwork, grounding your education in real-world experience.

The general sonography track includes care for patients with a wide range of medical issues using advanced ultrasound imaging equipment to evaluate the human body, examine organ systems and vascular structures, and detect pathological changes. A St. Kate’s sonography general major prepares you to take national certification exams in ultrasound physics, abdominal ultrasound, and obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound (RDMS or ARRT).

The echocardiography track provides you with an in-depth knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, you will learn to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations in our newly remodeled scan lab and echo simulator. St. Kate's Sonography Echocardiography major prepares you to take the national certification exam for Adult Echocardiography (RDCS or CCI).
