TeamSTEPPS is an evidence-based framework to optimize team performance across the healthcare delivery system. Participants will engage with an asynchronous video module which will include an overview of TeamSTEPPS principles prior to the synchronous session. The synchronous session will include active participation in scenarios to practice TeamSTEPPS skills related to communication, team leadership, situation monitoring, and mutual support. Learners have the opportunity to obtain a TeamSTEPPS Scholar Badge upon completion of the asynchronous work. Learners have the opportunity to obtain a TeamSTEPPS Collaborator Badge upon completion of the synchronous work. Both of these are Team Awareness Badges.
This is a team awareness learning activity with the following learning outcomes:
- Describe aspects of team effectiveness including communication, team leadership, situation monitoring, and mutual support.
- Identify individual strengths and areas for growth in each of the aspects of team effectiveness.
- Demonstrate strategies to support team effectiveness within case scenarios.
